Amsterdam has been a melting pot of people and cultures for 750 years. You can feel it in the city streets. Our vibrancy here is boundless. Through your streets, through our streets, Circus around the Block plays. A visual circus about carrying and being carried in a vibrant city.

Boost Producties previously made an enchanting impression with a walk-through circus in the Beurs van Berlage, where no room of this iconic building was left unused. This contemporary circus is at the intersection of theater, dance and visual art, where venue, surprise and beauty go hand in hand. Their latest performance Circus around the Block takes place in a hidden part of Amsterdam's Pijp district: the Tolstraat, Cullinanplein and Dora Tamanaplein.

The performance takes as its inspiration the neighborhood itself, with its unusual buildings, rich history and multicolored residents. For a year the makers of Boost, together with CC Amstel and the many neighborhood organizations, are active in this neighborhood. Together with the residents they collect stories and invent new ones. With circus, they seek connections for everyone who wants to participate.

In Circus around the Block all these experiences from the neighborhood come together. A performance full of movement, fun and so characteristic of Boost: the life-size, alienating installations in which award-winning circus artists play exciting scenes.

Run, the circus is coming!

The starting point of Circus around the Block is in the heart of the neighborhood, at CC Amstel. This lively neighborhood theater, with a great passion for circus, is one of the beautiful meeting places in the neighborhood.
